A Week-Long Festive Carnival:Shoppers Stop Contest
11/28/2012Mom's I tell you. They don't listen. They know everything. They are always the winner. So this is,how my week long trip to Delhi started. The 33 hours train journey was indeed a long affair, and yes mom was right.I have to dress myself comfortable enough to sleep at peace.I had a shopping mission ahead.2-3 comfortable clothes(one for train , 2-3 for daily wear),party wear for cocktails,a traditional Diwali dress,a traditional Shadi Sangeet dress and of course the finale' dress as a groom's best friend. So I typed in shoppersstop.com and voila, the database came ahead. It was a simple thing to do,an hour of research of the best clothes to wear, and I was ready with all my essentials.First time,so quick.Mom was surprised to know that a gal who takes hours and hours in the trial room of various brands was the fastest she knew I could be.
I sometimes wonder how it'll be to walk in stilettos in the train.Would be nothing less than a catwalk. So for trains,it has to be comfortable sandals.I prefer sandals to shoes because its easy to take your feet off.The kind of clothes that lets the air in are my favorites for a journey.Luckily,I found my perfect suitcase with the laptop zip,to keep my travel laptop safe.I picked up two more sandals for western wear and a traditional wear.
Delhi is going to be cold.So I pick up my black woolens to wear with everything I have and beige stole to go with all my traditional as well as western dress.Party wear for cocktails and beige pumps to go with them.Salwar suit for diwali and patiala suit for dancing in Sangeet. The traditional bling sandal to go with suits on both days.Hair clutch to club my cluttered hair and give it more style.Sunglasses for style and daily wear to meet friends.
I carefully planned all my jewelery to bag to watch to bracelet to sandal to earrings to go with my beautiful sari on my friend's wedding.I was excited,to be all groomed.
With so many costumes,It was necessary for me to look my best in all occasions. It's that time of the year, when you feel good about everything around. So a sunscreen,a pink blush,a true match foundation,a velvety primer,a natural eye shadow, kohl and mascara, lipstick and the pumpkin shaded nail paint.
It wasn't so difficult for me to spot the showstopper. It was her day after all.She looked magnificent in her red saree,so apt for the occasion. It made her glow. The wedding ceremony was about to start...
The groom entered with applause. His friends shouting his name with every step he took,I was at my vocal best too.The watch made the time still. The wrist watch on his hand still reminding him of his college days-the watch which his dad gifted him in his 1st year of college. It was the perfect day for those fond memories, and perfect day to start new ones.
How picture perfect that is?True isn't it?
